DESCRIPTION:In response to legal advice relating to new Health and Welfare
  legislation\, KartSport NZ have introduced new rules for practicing on Ne
 w Zealand's kart tracks. The rules are effective now and allow only person
 s holding a KSNZ licence to drive on tracks\, along with this they have in
 troduced a formal Practice Licence for those not yet ready to take up a fu
 ll competition licence. The KartSport Southland committee has considered a
 t length our position under these new rules and concluded until we know mo
 re about how this system operates we need to pull back from all members ho
 lding keys to the track gate. The lock will be changed this weekend\, but 
 the track is still fully available for licenced members wishing to practic
 e\, a key can be picked up from Rick Michels 027 434 2281 or John Keast 02
 7 435 8265. Effective immediately it is critical that no member allows an 
 unlicensed person to drive a kart on our track. We are still to establish 
 how potential members can being given a try-out and as soon as we have tha
 t mechanism it will implemented.
